This book is written by a guy named David
Nevogt. As I had never heard of him, I was a little skeptical
about his book. He boldly claims that his system can take up to
12 strokes off of your game. |

![]() Looking closely at the drills he teaches, a person who worked hard enough will take some strokes off their game. The key here is that he shows you HOW to practice, and WHAT to practice. Let's face it. If you practice for hours at a time on bad techniques, you will never get any better. Nevogt shows you sound techniques that will improve your game if you follow his instruction. His basic premise is to instill the understanding in you that you need to use your spine as an axis during your golf swing. .It is all about the proper turning of your body around this axis during the swing. It is obviously a very sound philosophy. How often do you hear the announcers on TV state that the player came up and out of his shot? They are speaking directly to the problem of changing the spinal position during the swing. Nevogt also astutely works with you on timing...again, a very important part of the game. Another area that many amateurs let slip is their attention to their grip. He shares excellent information in this area also. The Simple Golf Swing has become a well recognized bible for many golfers due to helping players achieve the intended goals with which it is written and the focus on fundamentals that we so desperately need to pay more attention to. There are a ton of testimonials on the site that are unsolicited by the author. If nothing I say here leads you to understand how valuable this information is, check out the testimonials. They are real and powerful. For most players, you will not find a revamping of the swing as "you think you are doing it". You will however, find clarity in how to do the things you think you are now doing, but are not. (Huh?) That is what makes this such a great book. Before I changed to the Stack and Tilt System, I purchased this book and followed the simple instructions. What I found is that I became much more aware of the key points he teaches. I became more consistent. Did I better my handicap by 7 to 12 strokes. No. I improved my handicap by 1 stroke. That said, the 6 years before I purchasedThe Simple Golf Swing, my handicap had slid by 10 strokes. After studying The Simple Golf Swing, I not only stopped the slide, but I did improve the first time in 6 years, even if it was only a stroke. Remember, I had been sliding by almost 2 strokes per year. My back continued to get worse, (and I continued to get older )-:), yet I finally stopped the bleeding of my handicap after following Devogts' teachings. The Simple Golf Swing really helped me put perspective back into my swing. It also brought clarity to many things that I simply misunderstood for many years. I feel like I played much better, I simply did not see a big decrease in my handicap. That, I attribute to my back and not The Simple Golf Swing. Bottom line...If you want to improve your consistency and are willing to follow the concise drills clearly depicted in this manual, you will find your money well spent. Devogt is still selling this The Simple Golf Swing for 47 bucks. I think at that price, it is a steal. From time to time, he also offers bonuses with the purchase. Right now, he is offering about 250 bucks worth of great bonuses that focus on the short game, the sand game, hitting it longer and other important aspects of your game. If you need help, this is a great way to get it without having to change your basic swing premise. |
